Build on Your GIAC Success with a SANS.edu Certificate or Degree

SANS.edu offers advanced standing for qualified GIAC certification holders, allowing you to accelerate your cybersecurity education:

• Waive 1 active GIAC certification into our professional certificate programs.
• Waive up to 3 active GIAC certifications into our bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.

Some exceptions apply, including for select U.S. government and military education programs — contact info@sans.edu with any questions.

Big news for SANS.edu students: once you earn your 9th GIAC certification, GIAC will automatically align the expiration dates of all your active certs. That means all your GIAC certifications will share one expiration date, 4 years from your most recent milestone.

• All SANS.edu students can benefit from this, whether you earn 9 GIAC certifications in our bachelor’s or master’s degree programs or by completing multiple programs.
• Maintain all your GIAC certs with a single course: once you earn your 9th GIAC certification and your expiration dates are aligned, you only need to earn one more certification to extend all your GIAC certs again for another 4 years.
• Our annual single course discount for alumni makes it easier to keep your certs current — and your skills sharp.
