Admissions:

SANS Technology Institute's (STI) New Student Orientation provides students with information to ensure successful navigation of the STI experience including course registration, tuition payments, and academic policies.

This orientation includes:

  • An orientation video (20 minutes)
  • A short quiz (5 minutes)
  • An advising session with your student advisor (30 minutes)

Orientation will take approximately 1 hour to complete and concludes with students registering for their course. Students should not register for a course until the orientation has been completed. You can complete orientation in multiple sessions, saving and returning to as needed.

Deadlines

Master's Degree Candidates:

  • Orientation cohorts begin on the 15th of each month.
  • Complete applications must be submitted 45 days prior to anticipated start month.

Graduate Certificate Program Candidates:

  • Orientation cohorts begin on the 1st of each month.
  • Complete applications must be submitted 30 days prior to anticipated start month.

Non-Degree, Single Course Students:

  • Orientation cohorts begin on the 1st of each month.
  • Complete applications must be submitted 15 days prior to anticipated start month.

Students begin Orientation with the next available cohort after the date of admission. Students have 30 days to complete all orientation components and must register for their first course within 60 days of their orientation date. All new students are required to complete orientation before taking courses.

How to Access Orientation

New Student Orientation is hosted virtually in the student portal, Canvas. Each student is provided next steps after admission into the graduate school. Please refer to your Offer of Admission email for how to access orientation.
