Cyber Cohort Program

Who is eligible?

All full-time employees are eligible to use their tuition assistance benefits with SANS Technology Institute (SANS.edu) courses and programs.

Interested employees should apply directly via SANS.edu. After admission, employees enroll and pay tuition costs upfront.

After completing each course, the employee is responsible for submitting their transcript, receipt, and other required documentation to Noblis according to the Noblis Education Assistance Procedure. Please read this document prior to enrolling.

Contact noblis-ea@noblis.org for more information on Noblis’ Education Assistance Program.

Noblis cohort programs are designed to give employees a pathway to deepen their knowledge and skills with support from a peer community.

Employees selected for the cohort program receive additional development and opportunities to apply learning internally.

To be eligible, employees must be full-time, employed with Noblis for at least 1 year, earn a qualifying score on their SANS aptitude assessment, and have development goals aligned to program outcomes.

Final selection is based on assessment score, approval from company leadership, available funding, and SANS program admission.

Employees can express interest and request to take the aptitude assessment through an internal form made available each fall. Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend internal information sessions prior to applying.

Contact noblis-ea@noblis.org for more information.

Make Sure You’re Applying to the Right Program

Please Read Carefully

  • The SANS Technology Institute (www.sans.edu) is a regionally accredited educational institution and our courses are eligible for tuition reimbursement, while SANS Institute (www.sans.org) training classes are not eligible.
    • It is also important that you apply specifically to take only courses offered by the SANS Technology Institute rather than SANS Institute training classes. Graduate courses at the SANS Technology Institute (SANS.edu) begin with "ISE" and have four digits, undergraduate courses at SANS.edu begin "CSF," "ACS" or “BACS” and have four digits, while training classes at the SANS Institute (sans.org) never use "ISE," "CSF," "ACS" or “BACS” and have only three digits. As an example, graduate students would apply to take ISE 5101, not SEC 401, even though ISE 5101 incorporates SEC 401 class material and GSEC exam. (See chart below.)
  • Students must pass the associated GIAC exam within the specified course timeline in order to pass the class. If the student does not pass the exam on their first attempt, they will need to purchase a re-take exam out of pocket.
