About Ross

Ross Bergman has more than three decades of experience as an Information Technology and Security Professional. Over the course of his career, he has held both leadership and hands-on roles across multiple industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, education, and software-as-a-service. As a Lead Author and Principal Instructor with the SANS Institute, and a faculty member of the SANS Technology Institute—an NSA Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense and multi-year winner of the National Cyber League competition—Ross helps cybersecurity professionals build confidence and capability as defenders. He is a Principal Instructor for two cornerstone SANS courses: SEC401: Security Essentials and SEC501: Advanced Security Essentials—Enterprise Defender (for which he is the Lead Author), guiding students to think critically, respond effectively, and strengthen enterprise defenses with measurable results.
