SANS Insider Guide to Boston

This is a fact filled introduction to of one of the greatest cities in the U.S. as we look forward to returning this year for SANS Boston 2010. By the way, some of the facts are pure fiction especially any references to base 16; hope you do not mind, and this should not be used as a primary source.

SANS Boston Haiku Contest

SANS Boston is sponsoring a haiku contest on twitter. Judge is Craig Duerr, and the Judge's word will be final. In honor of the conference location just outside Chinatown, the prize is a Kung Fu Iron Fan and a framed Honorary GIAC Certified Fan Expert certificate. Amaze your friends, be the first on your block, in fact, the only one on your block to have one.
Updates:
April 1, added more words otherwise my samples are going to suck the oxygen out of the atmosphere, let's try instructor names for 5, Falun Gong and Make Way for Ducklings for 10
April 1, added more words Filene's basement, Big Dig, Schrod, Boston Common, Frog Pond for 5
April 6, added the hex speak at ten points a pop

Rules:
  1. Haikus must be tweeted on twitter.
  2. Use hashtag #SANSBoston so the judge can find your Haiku
  3. Haikus must be tweeted between April 1 and April 15, 2010, contest ends at midnight East Coast time
  4. Must be a Haiku, 5/7/5 syllables link (and our hashtag at the end does not count for or against a syllable, i.e. not relevant)
  5. You do not have to register for the conference to compete
  6. You may enter multiple Haikus, however the score is NOT aggregate, the best Haiku is the best Haiku. However, the judge will choose the best Haiku from period 1 April 5 and again during period 2 on April 10 and the best Haiku author during those period will receive 10 additional points for the final score. NOTE: if you enter too many i.e. Haiku Spam like that Northcutt guy, the judge has a right to ignore you. Five or less Haikus during a five day period ( April 1 - April 5, April 6 - April 10, April 11 - April 15 will NOT be considered Haiku Spam).
  7. Words will be added during the contest to ensure new unique entries are easily created
  8. Stephen Northcutt is not eligible to win, but he can take Haiku's off the table by using them first, be fast, be creative
