Grading: Total Students/Grads/Retention

The institution opened at the end of 2005.

Number of Students

Fifty-one students presently are enrolled: 38 are in the MSISE Program, 12 are in the MSISM Program, and 1 is seeking both degrees.

Number of Graduates

Sixteen students have graduated from STI: 14 from the MSISE Program; and 2 from the MSISM Program. STI's students are adult working professionals who attend STI part-time and often have families and community obligations. Students have up to five years to complete the Program. Regarding the sixteen persons who have graduated, the average time has been about three years; those persons already had a GIAC Cert(s) and GIAC Gold Cert(s) when they were admitted to STI.

Retention

In 2006, two candidates withdrew from the MSISM Program; one of them had been provisionally admitted.

In 2008, three candidates were dismissed (one MSISM, one MSISE, and one Dual Degree provisionally admitted candidate).

In 2009, one candidate was dismissed (the student was a provisionally admitted MSISE); three candidates withdrew (two MSISE, one MSISM).

In 2010, two candidates withdrew from the MSISE Program. (One withdrew mainly for financial reasons, one withdrew mainly because that person's job no longer required a strong security focus).

As of 8/1/2011, there have been no dismissals/withdrawals of students in 2011.
